A few years ago, Virginia Holdford Stultz and I (Frances Cook "Cookie"
Cullom) took a probe with us when we visited the Joel Cullom Cemetery
in Halifax Co. on the property that had previously belonged to William
Cullum, Sr. Sure enough, we found a very large sunken fieldstone in
line with the other stones - unfortunately unmarked. I personally
believe that this was the stone marking the grave of William Cullum,
Sr., but I don't guess we'll ever be able to prove it. Virginia and I
raised this stone and left it in the exact same location.
